INGECOM (www.ingecom.ch), a company designing and producing Active-Tags since 2005, enhances its reputation of quality with the launch of ATEX certified RFID Active-Tags.
INGECOM, manufacturer of RFID Active-Tags, is launching the first ATEX certified RFID Active-Tags for asset management in hazardous areas.
The ATEX (94/9/EC) product certification delivered by a notified body is a trusted label for the users operating in hazardous locations and explosive atmospheres. The ATEX certificate provides assurance that the equipment will not cause an explosion during routine operation. The directive covers a large range of equipment, potentially including equipment used on fixed offshore platforms, in petrochemical plants, mines, flour mills and other areas where a potentially explosive atmosphere may be present.
The certificate delivered to INGECOM is for the group II, category 1. The equipment in this category is intended for use in areas in which explosive atmospheres caused by mixtures of air and gases, vapors or mists or by air/dust mixtures are present continuously, for long periods or frequently.
Many ATEX passive RFID products are already on the market but very few ATEX certified Active-Tag are available today. Bridging this gap with such a product places INGECOM ahead of the competition once again.
