INGECOM, manufacturer of RFID Active-Tags, is launching the first ATEX certified RFID Active-Tags for asset management in hazardous areas.
The ATEX (94/9/EC) product certification delivered by a notified body is a trusted label for the users operating in hazardous locations and explosive atmospheres. The ATEX certificate provides assurance that the equipment will not cause an explosion during routine operation. The directive covers a large range of equipment, potentially including equipment used on fixed offshore platforms, in petrochemical plants, mines, flour mills and other areas where a potentially explosive atmosphere may be present.
The certificate delivered to INGECOM is for the group II, category 1. The equipment in this category is intended for use in areas in which explosive atmospheres caused by mixtures of air and gases, vapors or mists or by air/dust mixtures are present continuously, for long periods or frequently.
Many ATEX passive RFID products are already on the market but very few ATEX certified Active-Tag are available today. Bridging this gap with such a product places INGECOM ahead of the competition once again.
« Asset management, tracking, tracing and streamlining the products or workers in such environment is of utmost importance to the managers. The ATEX certified RFID Active-Tag provides an immediate answer to such requirement with a quick and cost effective setup. Our product is attractively priced so as to optimize the purchasing process .»
Said Olivier Desjeux, managing director of the company.
Headquartered in Switzerland, in the heart of the low-power technology, INGECOM has quickly established itself as a leading expert in the technology of active-tags. The R&D and production under the same hood provides unrivalled performance to price ratio of its products. Quality has made the reputation of this company, especially when considering the exceptional battery lifetime for such a small form factor. With no hidden cost such as license fees or expensive installation cost, the deployment of the overall system requires very contained investments for a quick and reliable installation
The products are already sold across the world by the system integrators appointed by INGECOM, from Sweden down to South-Africa, in various verticals such as logistics center, industry, mining, museums or hospitals.
